“Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. “

― Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

NUUM is a collective of artists committed to a multi-disciplinary approach to creating performance work.

We are choreographers, composers, programmers, visual artists and interaction designers who seek out the paradox inherent to working in one discipline through the lens of an adjacent form.

As in sculpture, we choreograph stillness.

So that movement, like rhythm is felt rather than seen.

Rhythm and pitch are laid out visually in space so we can more fully inhabit the dimension of time.

The abstraction of words and geometries puts into relief the specificity of the human form.

And technology exists to create space for what the human mind can do.

From left to right, we are NiNi Dongnier, Mimi Yin, Tiriree Kananuruk.
